Was a banner year for us as we won the Rocky Mountain BBQ Association’s Team of the Year Award.

We also won the Untied States 3rd largest contest and finished 18th out of over 500 teams in the United States largest contest taking 3rd in Chicken and 5th in Pork.

We finished the year in the top .05% nationally in all categories finishing as high as 6th in the nation in Brisket out of over 5000 teams.

We had 5 Grand Championships, 2 Reserve Grand Championships and 4 3rd place overall finishes in the 15 contests we cooked – in 2/3rds of the BBQ Contests we cooked we took 1st, 2nd or 3rd overall.

Between 2013 & 2014 we competed in 29 contests and we finished top 10 overall in 26 of them – Finishing Grand Champion 7 timesReserve Grand Champion 6 times and 3rd 7 times. That ratio is right up there with the top 3 or 4 teams in the country.


2013 was a solid year for us as we took home Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion or 3rd place overall in over half the contests we cooked. We also added 2 more 180’s (perfect scores) to our resume bringing our total to 4.
We competed in 3 Invitational Contests and 13 open contests.

We averaged 4 out of 5 possible top 10 placements per competition totaling 64 top 10 placements across the five categories in 2013.


In 2012 we did four contests as we spent most of the summer grooming our newest additions Jack and Jenna for the competition circuit.

We are proud of making it through to the regional finals of Sam’s Club Series


2011 was our first full year competing.

In 2011 there were 14,703 Briskets turned in at sanctioned KCBS contests – 22 of the 14,703 briskets earned a PERFECT SCORE – GQue is proud to be one of those teams!

In 2011 we cooked in 15 contests and had 39 Top 10 placements across Chicken, Ribs, Pork, Brisket and Sauce categories.
