Bourbon Lemonade is the result of two of my favorite summertime drinks Bourbon and Lemonade. You can really take it over the top by grilling off the lemons first to give them a nice char flavor.

Make Simple Syrup using:
1/2 C Sugar
1/2 C Water
1/2 C Honey
Heat to dissolve

Its very important any time you grill to make sure your grates are clean – I recommend heating your grill up as hot as possible and if you have lots of bits still stuck to your grates use a heavy duty wire brush to get them off – I then like to take a paper towel with some oil and use tongs to clean off the grates this is important as if you don’t do this step you will impart a gross burnt char flavor to the lemons as they grill up.

Take 6 Lbs of Halved Lemons and grill to browned
Squeeze juice out of lemons

For Lemonade Mix:
6 C of water
Lemon Juice
Simple Syrup

Refrigerate over night

For Cocktail:
Mix your ratio of Bourbon Lemonade I like to keep it about 50/50 – I also think that adding the mint brings a lot of flavor and aroma to the cocktail and is a must as long as you like mint. My favorite glass to serve Bourbon Lemonade in is a mason jar.
