Q’ing For a Cause – Saturday October 29th

By October 4, 2011No Comments

When: Saturday, October 29th
Where: Rocky Mountain Brewery & B’z BBQ Company, 625 Paonia Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80915

The Rocky Mountain BBQ Association has teamed up with Care & Share Food Bank of Southern Colorado to announce “Q’ing for a Cause”. This event will be a kick-off for Care & Share’s upcoming Holiday Food Drive Season. This unique charitable event provides competition quality barbecued meat to the food bank for distribution to those less fortunate.

How Q’ing for a Cause Works – Competition barbecue teams, backyard smokers, and mobile barbecue restaurants will converge at the Rocky Mountain Brewery & B’z BBQ Company parking lot in Colorado Springs on the morning of Saturday October 29th. Donated meat will be prepped, seasoned and given to each cook. For the next 10 to 12 hours, each cook will work their own brand of magic and turn the meat into mouth watering BBQ. Once the meat is finished, volunteers will ready the meat for bagging and storing in the refrigerated Care & Share Food Bank truck. Care & Share will take the meat and distribute it to those who are in need throughout their network.

How You Can Help – We are seeking cookers, volunteers, materials and of course, monetary donations. Please contact Brad Hammond at 719-271-6881 or qingforacause@msn.com if you can help our cause or would like additional information. This is an opportunity for a unique charitable contribution; BBQ from some of the country’s best BBQ’ers. This is a priceless gift to offer the underprivileged and homeless families in our community – You can also visit www.qingforacause.org for more info
